Everton are hopeful that FIFA will accept Steven Naismith's move from Rangers to Goodison Park.
Naismith signed a four-year-contract for the Toffees last week after opting not to have his registration transferred to the newco Rangers.
The Scottish Football Association have failed to process the international clearance necessary to complete the deal.
"We remain completely confident that the international clearance required will be granted by FIFA," Goal.com quotes an Everton source as saying.
Naismith is currently on tour with his new teammates in Austria as Everton step up their pre-season preparations.
