Leon Osman: 'Everton's comeback against Arsenal was incredible'

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman describes the Toffees' comeback in the 2-1 win over Arsenal as "incredible".

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman has suggested that he was surprised to see the Toffees' fight back to claim a 2-1 victory over Arsenal.

Everton went into the game having won just one of their previous 10 Premier League fixtures and they appeared on course for another game without success after Alexis Sanchez scored a free kick in the 20th minute.

However, goals from Seamus Coleman and Ashley Williams earned the Merseyside outfit a famous triumph, and Osman - who spent 16 years with the club between 2000 and 2016 - has hailed the comeback from Ronald Koeman's side,

The 35-year-old told BBC Radio 5 live: "It's been a bit lacklustre in the past several weeks but it was an incredible turnaround.

"The start was the same as the performances had been in the past few weeks and let Arsenal get into a lead, which was always going to be difficult to turn around.

"I just think nights under the lights at Goodison Park can be special occasions and the crowd really inspired the team and the team turned up and what a performance it became."

Everton now sit in seventh place in the top-flight standings.
