Sam Allardyce 'appointed Crystal Palace manager'

Sam Allardyce reportedly signs a two-and-a-half-year deal to become the new manager of Crystal Palace, just a day after Alan Pardew was sacked.

Sam Allardyce has reportedly agreed terms with Crystal Palace over becoming the club's new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Palace sacked previous boss Alan Pardew yesterday following a run of just one win in their last 11 Premier League games, leaving them one point clear of the relegation zone.

Allardyce was quickly installed as favourite to succeed Pardew at Selhurst Park and, after meeting with the club's hierarchy today, Sky Sports News claims that he has agreed to take the job.

The 62-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by England after just one match in charge following an undercover media sting.

Palace outlined their desire to make a quick appointment, and Allardyce is expected to take training on Saturday before overseeing his first match in charge against Watford on Boxing Day.

Allardyce, who has never been relegated from the Premier League, dragged Sunderland away from danger in his last club job.
