Alan Pardew praises Crystal Palace's "resilience"

Crystal Palace displayed "great resilience" to beat Southampton 2-1 in the FA Cup, according to their manager Alan Pardew.

Alan Pardew has hailed his Crystal Palace side for the "resilience" that they displayed during their 2-1 win away at Southampton in the FA Cup this afternoon.

Pardew's men took a first-half lead thanks to Joel Ward, but they were pegged back soon after the restart by Oriol Romeu.

However, the Eagles secured their place in the next round thanks to a 68th-minute effort from winger Wilfried Zaha.

"This is what this team's about. We're difficult to score against with a good back four and goalkeeper. We can kill teams on the break," Pardew told BBC Sport.

"We have a great resilience. You look at our record of teams scoring an equaliser, we go on to win more than we lose."

Palace return to Premier League action on Tuesday when they travel to struggling Aston Villa.
