Barcelona are reportedly not in a position where they are able to register the signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

Barcelona are reportedly not in a position where they can register the signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

For a number of weeks, it has been widely claimed that the Chelsea defender and AC Milan midfielder have agreed to move to Camp Nou on free transfers.

The Catalan giants have been required to explore that method of transfer due to their well-documented financial issues, club officials currently attempting to offload a number of fringe players.

However, that is yet to materialise and according to Sport, it is currently impacting on their efforts to meet La Liga regulations.

The report claims that Barcelona would currently be prevented from registering Christensen or Kessie, highlighting the size of the task that is ahead of the powers-that-be.

While some squad members will inevitably depart over the coming months, Barcelona want to sign several more players, and there is potential for the slow movement of outgoing players to delay Xavi's efforts to strengthen his squad.
