Guy Demel; 'We can beat Chelsea'

West Ham United defender Guy Demel believes that his side can beat Chelsea at Upton Park on Saturday.

West Ham United defender Guy Demel has insisted that his side can beat Chelsea on Saturday if they repeat their display in their narrow defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday night.

A first-minute Robin van Persie goal handed Manchester United a 1-0 victory but after coming close to gaining a result at Old Trafford, Demel believes that West Ham can beat Chelsea if they are more clinical in front of goal.

Demel told the club's official website: "If we play like that against Chelsea and are more clever in front of goal, we have a chance to win the game.

"Chelsea are a similar team to Manchester United, but they were worried last night. You couldn't hear their fans. At home this weekend I think we will push forward more.

"We don't need to hide because we have an opportunity to win the game."

The Hammers are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table.
