Gary Cahill has insisted that Chelsea should be satisfied with Sunday's 1-1 draw at Manchester City.
The Blues took the lead through Andre Schurrle at the Etihad Stadium yesterday afternoon, but Frank Lampard came off the bench to score against his former club with five minutes to go.
Despite being pegged back late on by City, Cahill believes that Chelsea can be content with a share of the spoils.
"We thought we had done enough but they have class players that can hurt you," he told the club's official website. "It's a little bit deflating but we came here two points ahead of second and we leave here three points ahead of second. It wasn't that bad a result for us.
"The onus was on them to be on the front foot and come at us, which they did. We defended well and after the sending off we went one up. Of course we wanted to see it out but we were away from home at a very tough place to play. I think the point was probably better for us."
Chelsea are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the League Cup.
