Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has suffered an injury blow ahead of the Champions League final at the end of the month.

The 30-year-old was included in the Chelsea starting lineup for this evening's crucial Premier League clash with top-four rivals and FA Cup final conquerors Leicester City.

However, Kante lasted a little over half an hour of the match at Stamford Bridge before being forced off through injury.

The midfielder walked off the pitch and briefly spoke with manager Thomas Tuchel before heading straight down the tunnel for treatment on the injury.

Kante was not suffering from a noticeable limp, though, and Chelsea will hope that the problem is nothing serious ahead of the Champions League final against Manchester City on May 29.

The Frenchman, who was replaced by the returning Mateo Kovacic, was one of the Blues' star performers as they overcame Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition.

Chelsea also face an important game against Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season, which could determine whether they finish in the top four.
