Real Betis boss Pepe Mel has thanked the club's supporters for their support during the Spanish outfit's difficult start to the season.

Betis battled for fourth position last season, but have lost four of their opening eight games in the new campaign, with a total of eight points leaving them in 13th spot in the table.

"I know the Betis fans have absolute confidence in their coach and I'm not going to allow them to lose that trust," he told the club's official website.

"I promised at the start of the season that we were going to have a good campaign and that's what we will do."

Betis return to domestic duty at home to Elche this weekend.
