Conference Premier roundup: Barnet lose at Wrexham

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's action in the Conference Premier as Bristol Rovers move to within four points of leaders Barnet.

Barnet have seen their lead at the top of the Conference Premier table reduced to four points after they suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Wrexham.

Rob Evans netted the only goal of a game that also saw Barnet top goalscorer John Akinde dismissed for two bookable offences.

Bristol Rovers were able to take full advantage of the Bees' setback by nicking a 1-0 triumph away at Grimsby Town, thanks to a strike from Tom Lockyer.

That result enabled Rovers to also move ahead of Macclesfield Town in the standings after they could only draw 1-1 away at Southport.

Forest Green Rovers have overtaken Grimsby to move into fourth position despite being held to a 2-2 draw away at Altrincham.

Eastleigh hold on to sixth place despite losing 2-1 at home to Torquay United, but they are joined on 51 points by Halifax Town, who managed a 3-2 success over Dover Athletic.

Woking ensured that they remained ahead of Kidderminster Harriers after Yemi Odubade netted a second-half equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw at Aggborough.

At the foot of the table, Nuneaton Town have moved off bottom spot after a valuable 2-1 victory away at Gateshead, and have been replaced by AFC Telford United, who conceded in the last minute to lose 3-2 at home to Dartford.

Alfreton Town remain in the relegation zone after suffering a 2-1 defeat at Braintree Town, while the other results of the afternoon saw Chester FC and Aldershot Town record narrow wins over Lincoln City and Welling United respectively.
