Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann is reportedly set to seal a permanent return to Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The France international initially departed the Wanda Metropolitano for Barcelona in the summer of 2019 but struggled to make a consistent impact in the Blaugrana XI.
Griezmann returned to Atletico on loan in the summer transfer window and has eight goals and five assists to his name from 25 games for the La Liga champions, although only three of those strikes have come in La Liga.
Despite failing to hit his previous heights under Diego Simeone, Eldesmarque reports that Griezmann's buy clause of €40m (£33.6m) will be triggered at the end of the season.
The report adds that Griezmann will seal a permanent return to Atletico if he plays at least 50% of minutes that he is available for, with the 31-year-old currently featuring 66% percent of the time.
Griezmann is set to leave Barcelona having scored 35 goals and set up 17 more in 102 games for the Catalan club, winning the 2020-21 Copa del Rey last year.
