Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has praised the influence of David Villa this season.
The Spanish international, who moved to the capital from Barcelona in the summer, has netted 12 times in all competitions this season.
The 32-year-old won two league titles and one Champions League during his time at the Camp Nou and Simeone has claimed that Atletico are drawing confidence from Villa's winning mentality.
"He's used to playing to win and that's good for the team," he told reporters at a press conference.
"He is doing what we expected of him and we hope he can keep doing that. His numbers are more impressive with every game."
Villa has also netted 56 times for his country.
