Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly stepped up the club's interest in Schalke 04 midfielder Julian Draxler with a view to a possible future move.
The German international returned from suspension to feature in the club's Champions League group game in midweek, a 1-1 draw with Slovenian club Maribor.
According to The People, the Gunners sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old playmaker, having been linked with his signature in the past.
However, Arsenal are also said to have had Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic watched this week along with representatives of Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur and may turn their attention to the Croatian if a move for Draxler doesn't materialise.
Draxler's current club lost their latest Bundesliga game on Saturday against high-flying Hoffenheim.
