Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Watford

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against Watford.

Unai Emery's Arsenal travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Sunday looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Gunners lost 3-1 to Liverpool last time out on the road, but provided a stirring comeback from 2-0 down against Tottenham Hotspur in a fiercely contested North London derby before the international break.

Much has changed at Watford since their last match against Newcastle on August 31, with Javi Gracia being sacked and replaced by one of his predecessors Quique Sanchez Flores.

Despite a potential new manager boost for Watford, Arsenal will be desperate for three points come Sunday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for the Gunners.

Lucas Torreira

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: Unknown

The scrappy midfielder was handed his first start of the season against Tottenham last time out but has picked up a muscular injury while on international duty with Uruguay. He was not selected in their 1-1 draw with the United States in Missouri and will be assessed by Arsenal's medical staff.

Hector Bellerin

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Manchester United)

Bellerin has been a long-term absentee for Arsenal but is thought to be progressing well, and could make a long-awaited return by the end of the month.

Rob Holding

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 15 (vs. Watford)

Holding is another long-term absentee, but he has now returned to training and has featured for Arsenal's Under-23 side. It is still unlikely that he will feature on Sunday as he still looks to build match fitness, but he is very much in contention to return soon.

Konstantinos Mavropanos

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Manchester United)

Mavropanos is recovering from a groin injury, but rehabilitation appears to be going better than first expected. The defender could return before the end of the month.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Manchester United)

Summer signing Kieran Tierney is yet another Arsenal player that could return to first-team training later this month. The left-back is progressing well with his rehab.

Granit Xhaka

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: September 15 (vs. Watford)

The Swiss international has complained of an ongoing Achilles tendon issue that has had to be carefully managed over the opening weeks of the season. The midfielder should be available on Sunday, but one to watch.

Joe Willock

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: September 15 (vs. Watford)

Willock was withdrawn from England Under-21 duty with a calf issue, but was still fit enough to be on the bench against Tottenham before the international break. The youngster should be available for selection on Sunday.
