Olivier Giroud "really pleased" with FA Cup triumph

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud says that he is "really pleased" with his side's 4-0 FA Cup win over Hull and to have marked the birth of his second child with a brace.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has said that he is "really pleased" with his side's 4-0 win over Hull City in the FA Cup this evening.

The Gunners booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition with a comfortable victory over the Tigers at the KC Stadium, knocking Steve Bruce's side out for the third season in a row.

Giroud was playing less than a day after his wife had given birth to his second child, and marked the occasion by breaking a goal drought that stretched back almost two months with a brace.

"My wife gave birth yesterday but I wanted to play this game. I'm very happy for the team. We are really pleased and I am pleased to score. The team had a good cohesion," Giroud told BT Sport.

Arsenal will take on Watford in the quarter-finals on Sunday looking to continue their bid to become the first team since the 1880s to win the competition three years on the bounce.
