World number three and defending champion Roger Federer says that he is "fit and fresh" for Wimbledon.

Roger Federer has revealed that he is in good shape ahead of the upcoming defence of his Wimbledon crown.

The 31-year-old, who has triumphed seven times at SW19, was speaking after he had claimed his first title of 2013 in Halle at the expense of Mikhail Youzhny yesterday afternoon.

"For me, it is great in terms of confidence. Winning solves everything really. It was good to fight as well in the last couple of matches," said Federer.

"I'm just very happy how I played this week and excited about what is to come now.

"I feel confident, I feel fit and fresh and that's very important at this point in the season."

Federer has won just one Grand Slam title since his success at the Australian Open in January 2010.
