Eugenie Bouchard has admitted that she struggled to find her best form, despite beating Caroline Garcia in straight sets in the Australian Open.
The Canadian was broken twice in the opening set, although she eventually prevailed, and she has said that she is unhappy with her overall performance.
She told reporters: "This was a bit of a test for me, I wasn't feeling great on court if I'm honest. I didn't find that I found my rhythm well, I felt that she was serving well, so I really had to be prepared for anything and I don't really think that I played my best but I battled hard and it went well.
"She was definitely more aggressive at the start of the match, that's why the match was so close. It's not what I want on the court. I stay calm. I wanted to change my game around and try work at it point by point. I won the first set and there after it was a great loss of pressure for me and I was able to stroll through."
Bouchard will face Irina-Camelia Begu in the next round.
