Eugenie Bouchard is through to the Australian Open fourth round, after easing past Caroline Garcia 7-5 6-0.

The seventh seed came out of the traps slowly and lost her serve twice in the opening set, but she managed to stick with the French player by continually breaking back, before she broke again in the 11th game to win the set.

The second set was much more straightforward for the Canadian as her confidence grew and Garcia faded, and she rushed through it quickly to sew up the match.

Bouchard will meet Irina-Camelia Begu in the next round.
