England head coach Stuart Lancaster is believed to be close to announcing the capture of Mike Catt as interim back coach.
The former fly-half has been linked with a switch to the national set-up in recent weeks, and it is expected that the 40-year-old will assist Lancaster for this summer's tour of South Africa on a temporary basis.
"There will be three main coaches but to do this tour with just three coaches would be a stretch so we'll need some support in there too," said Lancaster.
"Short term we need to find a replacement for Andy [Farrell] for the tour and some support coaches who can come in and help out with the team that plays in
midweek."
Catt is currently working with London Irish as the side's attack coach.
