Try-scoring opportunities were at a premium in the opening half, with fly-halves George Ford and Phil Godman adding the only points in the first 40 minutes.
The hosts dominated the start of the second half, allowing Horacio Agulla and Leroy Houston to both find the try line in the space of five minutes.
The visitors rarely looked like reducing the deficit, while Francois Louw was able to put the result beyond doubt with a late try for Bath.
The result leaves Bath third in the Aviva Premiership table, while Newcastle sit 11th.
