Wolverhampton Wanderers "sound out" Paul Lambert replacements

Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers owners Fosun International reportedly begin "sounding out" potential replacements for head coach Paul Lambert.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly "sounded out" potential replacements for head coach Paul Lambert amid uncertainty over his future.

Yesterday it emerged that the Scot could depart Molineux after being allegedly told by Chinese owners Fosun International that advisor Jorge Mendes - the 'super agent' who represents Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho - would be in charge of the club's transfer dealings this summer.

Lambert was said to have held "crunch talks" with Fosun and, while insisting that he did not wish to quit, made it clear that he wanted control over new additions ahead of next season.

According to the Express & Star, Fosun are considering sacking the former Norwich City manager and have already begun exploring potential replacements "both in England and overseas".

Lambert is already the third manager in Fosun's 10-month spell in charge of the Midlands side, with the incumbent Kenny Jackett being given his marching orders days before the start of the season and replacement Walter Zenga being shown the door after just 89 days in charge.
