Wolfsburg have completed the signing of centre-back Timm Klose from Nuremberg in a part-exchange deal.
The 25-year-old will relocate to the Volkswagen Arena, while former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz will move in the other direction.
Nuremberg general manager Martin Bader told Sky Deutschland: "I am able to confirm that we have agreed a sensible solution, one that pleases everyone.
"We are happy with the terms and furthermore we will sign a player in Emanuel Pogatetz that will boost our first team."
Wolfsburg will pay Nuremberg an undisclosed fee as part of the deal.
