Brazilian defender Naldo has swapped Werder Bremen for Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.
The 29-year-old spent seven years to Bremen, scoring 22 goals in the process from his defensive role.
However, the club's sporting director Klaus Allofs has conceded that Bremen were unable to match the financial offer that Wolfsburg made to the former Brazilian international.
"We had promised him that we would allow him a transfer if the conditions were right," Allofs told the club's official website. "We would have liked to have extended his contract but we could not compete with the offer from Wolfsburg."
Naldo has made four appearances for the Brazilian national team.
