Wigan Athletic have signed Partick Thistle defender Jack Hendry for an undisclosed fee, the club have confirmed.
The 20-year-old, who made five appearances for the Scottish Premiership side, has signed a four-year deal at the DW Stadium.
Hendry had been linked with a move to Everton, but caught the eye of Latics manager Gary Caldwell during a pre-season friendly between the two sides this summer.
Speaking to the club's website, Caldwell said: "Jack impressed that night and he is definitely one for the future, a defender with huge potential and he's one we have been watching.
"There were other clubs interested so we're delighted he has chosen to come to us. Let's hope he can start realising his potential with us at Wigan Athletic."
Hendry could make his Wigan debut against Chesterfield on Saturday, September 5.
