Gabriel Obertan has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Wigan Athletic after he was given permission to leave Anzhi Makhachkala.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Crystal Palace were interested in signing the former Manchester United winger after Russian club Anzhi signalled their intent to reduce their wage bill.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the Frenchman will hold talks with Wigan ahead of a potential move during the closing hours of the January window.
Latics boss Warren Joyce is familiar with Obertan, with the pair having previously spent a period of time together at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old also featured for Newcastle United for five years before leaving for Russia last summer.
