Young duo leave West Ham United

Young pair Jamie Harney and Danny Whitehead both leave West Ham United on a permanent basis.

West Ham United have this afternoon announced the departures of two of their younger players.

Centre-back Jamie Harney, who is a Northern Ireland Under-21 international, has turned his loan spell with League One side Colchester United into a permanent move.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have also confirmed that midfielder Danny Whitehead has had his contract cancelled with immediate effect.

The 21-year-old made one senior appearance for the East Londoners, which came during an FA Cup tie away at Nottingham Forest 12 months ago.
