The Football Association charges West Ham United for a breach of its anti-doping regulations.

The Football Association has charged West Ham United after the Premier League side were found to have breached anti-doping regulations.

Disciplinary proceedings have been launched in relation to the failure to adhere to the 'club whereabouts' rule, with it being alleged that West Ham failed to meet the necessary regulations on three occasions over the past 12 months.

West Ham now have seven days in which to answer the charge, but the East London outfit have indicated that the charge is purely an "administrative" matter.

A West Ham statement reads: "We would like to make it clear that the breach is a club administrative matter and does not concern any of our players.

"The breach relates to administrative oversights on the FA's whereabouts system, for example a player's address had been registered and the house number digits transposed, and the club will be responding to the FA in due course."

West Ham currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table, four points clear of the relegation zone.
