David Moyes believes West Ham United's Europa League last-16 tie against Sevilla is "the pick of the round", but admitted that he was hoping to draw Glaswegian giants Rangers.

The Hammers qualified for the last 16 as one of eight seeded teams after finishing top of Group H earlier this season, and they will now face La Liga outfit Sevilla, who are bidding to win a record seventh Europa League crown.

Reacting to the draw on Friday, Moyes stated that his side are in for a difficult battle against their Spanish counterparts but he is looking forward to the two-legged tie, and the Scotsman also took the time to praise Rangers after their playoff triumph against Borussia Dortmund.

"I think it's the pick of the round. Sevilla have been unbelievable in winning the competition. They're probably the form side in Spain after Real Madrid at the moment," Moyes told reporters.

"It's a really tough game, but we want to test ourselves against the best. It would be good to get used to the stadium if we could go back there for the final!

"I was looking forward to the prospect of going to Rangers, but great credit to them for getting through against Dortmund.

"We've played well in Europe and we'll take a big support to Seville and really look forward to it. There is more pressure on them than there is on us because we're new to it. We're getting used to it and hopefully we'll get more used to it in the future."

West Ham will travel away to Spain for the first leg on March 10, before hosting the second leg at the London Stadium on March 17.
