Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves has revealed that he wants to sign a new deal at Valencia.
The 31-year-old, who joined Valencia from Almeria in 2011, was strongly linked with a move away from Mestalla in the summer transfer window.
Alves ultimately remained with Los Che, however, and the experienced stopper is now targeting an extension to his current contract, which expires in the summer of 2019.
"I would like to extend my contract with Valencia," Alves told Cadena COPE. "I will do everything possible but it all depends on the club - I think I've had many good things for this club and I hold no rancour.
"What happened this summer is in the past – I am happy to be here and want to continue in this city for a long time."
Earlier this season, Alves became the goalkeeper with the most penalty saves in the top flight of Spanish football, stopping 16 of the 37 efforts that he has faced.
