Valencia are reportedly ready to activate the release clause of Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez.
Last week, it was claimed that Valencia and Sevilla were both interested in the Mexican international, who scored 26 times in 40 appearances for Leverkusen last season after making the move from Manchester United.
It was initially thought that the Spanish duo would struggle to meet the striker's buyout clause, which stands at £40.5m, but according to AS, Valencia will pay the asking price in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old, who has previously spent time in Spain with Real Madrid, has started the new campaign in impressive fashion, hitting seven goals in eight appearances this term.
Valencia recently appointed former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli as their new head coach.
