Toulouse, Paris Saint-Germain play out draw in Ligue 1 clash

Jean-Christophe Bahebeck scores a first-half equaliser to cancel out Wissam Ben Yedder's opener and earn Paris Saint-Germain a point in their clash with Toulouse.

Toulouse and Paris Saint-Germain played out a 1-1 draw in their Ligue 1 clash at Stadium Municipal this afternoon.

The home side took the lead in the eighth minute when Wissam Ben Yedder latched onto a cross from the left and the striker had no problem slotting the ball past Salvatore Sirigu, as an error from Serge Aurier allowed the 24-year-old to pounce.

PSG were struggling to get into the game as Toulouse were dominating possession and pressing high upfield to force errors from the visitors' midfield.

However, Laurent Blanc's side managed to find an equaliser in controversial circumstances in the 33rd minute as they wrestled back the initiative in the game.

Marco Verratti did well to pick out Jean-Christophe Bahebeck, who found the net from a free kick, but the home side insisted to the referee that they were not ready for the set piece.

Sirigu was forced into a good save just before the break to keep his side level when Adrien Regattin teed up Ben Yedder in the area and he let fly, but the Italian palmed the ball past the post.

The teams struggled to create anything after the break as the tempo of the game dropped with both sides lacking a creative spark in the final third of the pitch.

Bahebeck tried to force an opening in the 77th minute when he collected a pass from the edge of the box from Lucas Moura, but his powerful shot was well blocked by Dragos Grigore.

Toulouse had a chance to win the game in stoppage time when Marcel Tisserand raided upfield and picked out Ben Yedder at the back post.

The striker had space and time to find the unmarked Martin Braithwaite in the middle, but his touch was poor and PSG managed to clear the danger.
