Late Bradley Orr strike earns Toronto draw

Bradley Orr heads home in the 90th minute to hand 10-man Toronto a 2-2 draw with Sporting Kansas City in their MLS clash.

A last-minute strike from Bradley Orr earned 10-man Toronto a point in their MLS clash against Sporting Kansas City.

Both sides struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances in the opening 45 minutes due to a lack of quality in the final third of the pitch.

However, just two minutes after the break Kansas City took the lead through Dominic Dwyer in a move he started as his pass played in Sal Zizzo down the left.

The midfielder's cross found the 23-year-old in the box and he curled the ball into the bottom corner.

Matters got worse for Toronto when Steven Caldwell was sent off for a high boot on Toni Dovale in the 63rd minute.

Despite their one-man disadvantage the visitors got themselves level as Luke Moore collected a through-ball from Jermain Defoe and slotted a shot past Eric Kronberg.

Sporting were handed a chance to retake the lead when Igor Juliao was brought down in the area by Doneil Henry and the referee awarded a spot kick. Dwyer took the penalty and fired the ball past Joe Bendik into the bottom corner.

Kansas City were minutes away from securing the three points, but they failed to clear their lines from a free kick and Orr was there to head home Nick Hagglund's lofted ball into the area into the net to claim a point for his side.
