Brisbane Roar go top of the A-League by beating Sydney FC 4-0 in Queensland.

Brisbane Roar have gone top of the A-League after thrashing Sydney FC in Queensland.

First-half goals from Matthew Smith, Henrique and Jade North put the hosts firmly in control at Suncorp Stadium.

The opening 45 minutes were soured further for the visitors, as star man Alessandro Del Piero limped off the field and had to be replaced by Brett Emerton.

Brisbane's dominance continued after the break and their lead was increased when Thomas Broich slotted home with 10 minutes remaining.
