Report: Swansea City open contract talks with Garry Monk

Swansea City open talks with Garry Monk about extending his current deal with the club, according to a report.

Swansea City have reportedly opened talks with manager Garry Monk over extending his contract with the club.

The 36-year-old took charge of the Swans last February after the sacking of Michael Laudrup and guided them to Premier League safety.

He has continued to impress in his first full season in charge and has led the club to a new record points tally in the division.

Monk has two years left on his current contract, but according to BBC Sport, the Swans have started talks over an extension.

Swansea are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
