Former Swansea City striker Lee Trundle has dismissed speculation that manager Garry Monk is on the verge of losing his job.
Recent reports have claimed that chairman Huw Jenkins had started to have doubts as to whether Monk was the right man to take the club forward, having seen the team win only three of their 12 Premier League matches this term.
However, Trundle has insisted that the close bond between Jenkins and Monk will allow the latter to continue in the role.
"It's stupid to even be talking about [Monk being sacked]," he told the South Wales Evening Post.
"The chairman has always been close to Monks and has always known what Swansea means to him. That's why he gave him the manager's job in the first place. I can't imagine him getting rid of Monks after one little bad patch."
Monk was appointed to the Liberty Stadium helm in February 2014.
