Saturday's Championship predictions including Swansea City vs. Cardiff

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship fixtures, including Swansea City vs. Cardiff.

Brentford vs. Nott'm Forest (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Brentford manager Thomas Frank pictured on March 3, 2021© Reuters

Promotion-chasing Brentford play host to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon sitting five points adrift of second-placed Watford.

While the Bees are looking to earn a spot in the Premier League, Forest are still attempting to avoid relegation from the Championship after going five matches without a win.

We say: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

Brentford's recent inconsistency means that the outcome of this contest is not a foregone conclusion. However, with Forest having encountered a number of successive fixtures against the top sides, we feel that fatigue may begin to set in here, allowing the Bees to claim a narrow win.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Barnsley vs. Sheff Weds (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Playoff hopefuls Barnsley will host relegation strugglers Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Saturday afternoon looking to consolidate their place inside the top six.

The two teams head into this fixture at opposite ends of the form table, with the Tykes accumulating 22 points from their last eight league matches, in stark contrast to just the solitary point picked up by the Owls in the same period.

We say: Barnsley 3-0 Sheffield Wednesday

The last four league meetings between Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell have all ended as 1-1 draws, with the Owls scoring first in each of the last three.

However, the hosts have really found their groove over the last two months, and we expect them to secure a comfortable three points on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Bristol City vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Rotherham United will continue their battle against Championship relegation on Saturday as they travel to a Bristol City side still finding their feet under Nigel Pearson.

The Millers are 22nd in the table and six points behind 21st-placed Birmingham City, but they have four games in hand over the Blues, while the Robins sit with little to play for in 13th.

We say: Bristol City 0-1 Rotherham United

Rotherham are desperate for the points and a siege mentality seems to be forming in the Millers camp, which may drive them on to all three points here. Pearson has made Bristol City a more resolute side, but they do not have the same motivation as the visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Coventry vs. Wycombe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Coventry City welcome Wycombe Wanderers to St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon sitting just six points above the Championship relegation zone.

The visitors are now 12 points adrift of safety with nine matches remaining, leaving Gareth Ainsworth's side to push for a maximum return in the West Midlands.

We say: Coventry City 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers

With Wycombe having to go on the offensive, they will be expected to breach this Coventry backline over the course of the 90 minutes. Nevertheless, we are backing the Sky Blues to edge out the visitors, boosting their chances of remaining in the second tier.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Millwall vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Playoff hopefuls Middlesbrough will travel to Millwall in the Championship on Saturday hoping to secure their fourth league win in five games and stay in the hunt for a top-six finish.

The hosts are one of only four teams in the division to have claimed just four home victories so far this campaign and face a Boro outfit that have won two of their last three away matches.

We say: Millwall 1-2 Middlesbrough

Millwall have drawn 16 Championship matches this season – twice as many as Middlesbrough – with 10 of those at the Den, and the Lions will be hoping to claim all three points against the visitors to end their poor run of form on home soil.

However, Warnock will be keen to ensure that his side stay in the hunt for a playoff spot, and having scored in each of their last 16 meetings with Millwall, we expect Boro to find the net once again on Saturday and claim a narrow victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Norwich vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Norwich City will be aiming to make it 10 wins in a row when they host Blackburn Rovers in the Championship on Saturday.

The Canaries are the runaway leaders in the second tier, while Rovers have nothing left to play for and currently occupy 15th position in the table.

We say: Norwich City 3-0 Blackburn Rovers

Norwich do not look like slowing down any time soon, and we can only see another Canaries win here, particularly with the talismanic Buendia set to return. Blackburn are low on confidence and badly out of form so it could be a nightmare afternoon for the Lancashire side.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Preston vs. Luton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Preston North End manager Alex Neil pictured in September 2020© Reuters

Two clubs with very little left to play for in the Championship will go head to head on Saturday as Preston North End host Luton Town.

Both sides' playoff chances were ended long ago due to inconsistent form, but they are also well clear of relegation trouble; the Lilywhites are 16th in the table and the Hatters are three points better off in 14th.

We say: Preston North End 0-1 Luton Town

With little on the line in this match, it may ultimately come down to who wants it more and based off recent showings, we are siding with Luton in that regard. That said, both of these sides have been notoriously unpredictable this season so it is tough to call.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Reading vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Reading will be hoping to cling onto their place in the Championship playoffs when they host Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Results in midweek mean that the Royals have slipped to sixth, while QPR have found their feet too late in the campaign to mount their own playoff push and sit in 12th.

We say: Reading 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

With a tough run-in after the international break, Reading will know this is a must-win game, and we think that the Royals will just snatch victory on home turf. QPR performed a superb turnaround on Wednesday, but they may not be allowed such an opportunity against a better side.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Stoke vs. Derby (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Stoke City play host to Derby County on Saturday afternoon realistically requiring maximum points to remain in contention for the Championship playoffs.

Derby make the trip to the bet365 Stadium on the back of a 2-2 draw with Brentford, a result which has moved the Rams eight points clear of the drop zone.

We say: Stoke City 1-1 Derby County

While the Rams will be on a high after their comeback against Brentford, a meeting with Stoke represents a different test. Goals will likely be few and far between in the Potteries and these two sides could cancel each other out over the 90 minutes.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Watford vs. Birmingham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Automatic promotion hopefuls Watford will face Birmingham City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon hoping to consolidate second place with a victory at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets have won eight of their last nine league games, while the visitors are looking to win their first match at Vicarage Road since April 2009.

We say: Watford 2-0 Birmingham City

Birmingham will be hoping to build on an impressive victory in midweek as they look to move further away from the relegation zone. However, the visitors face a Watford side in a rich vein of form, and the Hornets should have enough quality in the final third to triumph at Vicarage Road this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Swansea vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 5.30pm)

The second South Wales derby of the campaign will take place at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening when Swansea City host Cardiff City in the Championship.

Only Norwich City and Watford have accumulated more points on home soil than the Swans so far this season, while the Bluebirds are unbeaten in their last seven away league games.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Cardiff City

Both Swansea and Cardiff will be keen to claim the bragging rights this weekend and keep their hopes of promotion to the Premier League in sight as they head into the final quarter of the campaign.

Even though the Swans have kept more home clean sheets than any other Championship team this season (11) and have not conceded in any of their last four meetings against Cardiff, we can see the Bluebirds finding the net on Saturday, in what is expected to be a tight encounter in South Wales.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
