Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho reportedly wishes to secure a shock return to Borussia Dortmund following the conclusion of his current loan spell at Chelsea.

Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho is reportedly dreaming of a move to Borussia Dortmund over the summer.

The out-of-favour 25-year-old is currently spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Chelsea, who are battling hard for a spot in the Champions League positions.

Sancho started brightly at Stamford Bridge - providing an assist in each of his first three matches - but has mustered up just the single goal contribution across his last 14 appearances.

Looking to establish themselves as a powerhouse at the very top of the English game once again, the Blues are supposedly looking at replacements for the winger in the transfer window.

Finding the net on two occasions and providing four assists across 23 Premier League matches, Sancho has contributed reasonably well in West London this season.

Man United, Chelsea man Sancho dreaming of Dortmund return?

According to German publication BILD, Sancho could be pushing for a move away from the Premier League just seven months after his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

The report claims that the 23-time England international has his heart set on a switch back to Germany, in order to link up with Borussia Dortmund for the third time.

There are known to be a number of complications in a transfer to the Bundesliga for Sancho, one of which being certain clauses in his temporary deal at Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca's Blues are obligated to sign the attacker permanently in the summer for a fee of £25m if specific conditions are met, with Man United keen to get the player off their books.

However, The Sun reports that Chelsea possess the ability to fork out a £5m compensation fee to the Red Devils in order to bypass the purchase obligation.

Sancho's home away from home

Despite being born and bred in England, Sancho has undoubtedly found the most comfort in his professional career while out on the continent at Signal Iduna Park.

Frozen out of the Man United plans by Erik ten Hag last season, the former Three Lions star enjoyed a six-month stint at Borussia Dortmund, who reached the Champions League final.

Despite the heartbreak of losing the Wembley showdown to Real Madrid, Sancho benefitted massively from the temporary switch back to the German giants.

The 25-year-old may feel underappreciated within Premier League circles, whereas the Yellow Wall would likely welcome back the winger with open arms.
