Sunderland are reportedly holding talks with Le Havre defender Benjamin Mendy.

Sunderland are reportedly close to completing the signing of Le Havre defender Benjamin Mendy.

The Black Cats have agreed a fee with the French club and will now discuss personal terms with the player, according to Sky Sports News.

Arsenal and Cardiff City have previously been linked with the 18-year-old full-back, although Sunderland are believed to be the favourites to secure his services.

Marseille and Lyon are also said to have expressed interest in Mendy, but the Premier League is thought to be his preferred destination.
