Craig Bellamy has insisted that Mark Hughes will be a "great asset" to Stoke City following his appointment at the Premier League club.
The 49-year-old replaced Tony Pulis as manager at the Britannia Stadium last week on a three-year deal.
Bellamy, who played under Hughes for Wales and Manchester City, believes that the Potters will only improve under his guidance.
"He has gone into an established Premier League club who have been left in a great position by Tony Pulis because of the work he has done has been remarkable," the Cardiff City striker told Sky Sports News.
"The intensity, the work rate at Stoke and the atmosphere generated will suit Mark Hughes's football. The professionalism he has, he will be a great asset to Stoke."
Stoke finished last season in 13th place in the Premier League table.
