Tottenham Hotspur 'want Gabriel Barbosa as Harry Kane replacement'

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a £25m move for Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a January move for Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa as they look for a replacement for the injured Harry Kane.

Spurs will be without Kane until April, with the England captain being forced to undergo a hamstring operation.

Lucas Moura was deployed through the middle against Liverpool on Saturday, but the Brazilian struggled to make his mark as Jose Mourinho's side suffered a 1-0 loss to the Premier League leaders.

Tottenham have been linked with AC Milan's Krzysztof Piatek, but according to The Mirror, Barbosa has emerged as the London club's leading target in the final third of the field.

The 23-year-old managed 25 goals in 29 league appearances during a loan spell at Flamengo before returning to parent club Inter at the beginning of the month.

The report claims that Spurs are considering a £25m move for the five-time Brazil international, who is said to be open to leaving Antonio Conte's side on a permanent deal in search of regular action.

Spurs will be looking to book their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Middlesbrough to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night.
