Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Richarlison will not be available for Sunday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest in North London.
The Brazilian's minutes have been carefully managed in recent weeks due to a knee niggle, and Postecoglou revealed on Friday that a slight flare-up means he will be forced to miss this weekend's battle.
Richarlison's issue is not expected to sideline him for the long-term, but for the time being, he joins Fraser Forster (foot), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Manor Solomon (knee) in the Tottenham treatment room.
Either way, Richarlison's thunder has now been stolen by Brennan Johnson, set to reunite with his former employers this weekend on the back of a successful start to his North London career.
The Welshman's opener in Tuesday's draw with West Ham United was his seventh direct contribution of 2024 - more than any other Spurs player - and he ought to continue up top with Son Heung-min and Timo Werner, who set up his early strike at the London Stadium.
James Maddison failed to pull the strings against the Irons as he was taken off early once again, but the Englishman is still expected to hold his spot over Dejan Kulusevski, who has been found wanting in recent weeks too.
Neither Rodrigo Bentancur nor Yves Bissouma put in particularly poor showings against West Ham and should therefore keep Pape Sarr at bay, while Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero link arms in a familiar shield in front of Guglielmo Vicario.
Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:
Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma; Johnson, Maddison, Werner; Son
