Team News: John Stones starts for Everton at Tottenham Hotspur

John Stones starts for Everton at Tottenham Hotspur after the Toffees rejected the defender's transfer request this week.

John Stones starts for Everton at Tottenham Hotspur after the Toffees rejected the defender's transfer request this week.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez insisted that the centre-back remained part of his plans for the club, and the Spaniard has shown his faith that Stones is in the right frame of mind to continue playing for the Merseyside club by picking him to partner Phil Jagielka.

Gareth Barry makes his 700th club appearance of his career in midfield, while there is a first start of the season for Bryan Oviedo at left-back.

For Tottenham, Nabil Bentaleb comes in for Erik Lamela and Danny Rose replaces Ben Davies at left-back, while Mauricio Pochettino keeps faith with Harry Kane in attack.
