Friday morning's Tottenham Hotspur transfer talk news roundup:
Tottenham Hotspur to battle Chelsea for Said Benrahma?
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race for Brentford attacker Said Benrahma.
The Algeria international enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign for the Bees, scoring 17 times and providing 10 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.
Benrahma is expected to leave Thomas Frank's side during this summer's transfer window following their failure to secure promotion to the Premier League for the 2020-21 season.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with the 24-year-old, but according to The Mirror, Spurs are also in the running for the playmaker.
The report claims that Brentford value Benrahma in the region of £25m but could be forced to drop their price in the summer market, potentially to £16m.
Arsenal, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Leeds United have also been credited with an interest.
Paul Scholes: 'Manchester United should target Harry Kane over Jadon Sancho'
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has claimed that the Red Devils should be prioritising a move for Harry Kane over Jadon Sancho during this summer's transfer window.
United continue to be linked with a big-money swoop for Sancho, although it remains to be seen whether the English giants can agree a transfer fee with Borussia Dortmund.
Kane's future has also been the subject of much speculation with Tottenham Hotspur missing out on a Champions League spot for the 2020-21 campaign.
Scholes has branded Sancho "a top-quality footballer", but the Englishman believes that Kane would be a better signing for his former club at this moment in time.
"I think if that's Harry Kane you're talking about now, I'd be more desperate to sign him than Sancho at this stage, although don't get me wrong, as I said I think he's a top-quality footballer," Scholes told BT Sport.
United, who finished third in the 2019-20 Premier League table to secure a return to the Champions League for next season, will face Copenhagen on Monday night in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
