Andros Townsend has insisted that he does not regret leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join relegation fighters Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old joined the Magpies in the January transfer window for a £12m fee after dropping down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have transformed into Premier League title contenders this season, but Townsend maintains that he made the right choice in joining Newcastle, who are six points from safety.
"I definitely don't have any regrets," the London Evening Standard quotes Townsend as saying. "I'm playing for a massive club and playing Premier League football. I'm playing 90 minutes of games, and I'm 100% delighted with the move I made to Newcastle.
"I know footballers can be labelled as people who don't care, but you only have to look at the faces in the dressing room to see how much it does mean to us. We're going to try our hardest to get ourselves out of the situation that we're in."
Newcastle have seven games left to prevent relegation to the Championship.
