Bolton Wanderers midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has revealed that he suffered flashbacks on his return to White Hart Lane after Fabrice Muamba's collapse.
Owen Coyle's side lost 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in a rearranged FA Cup quarter-final on Tuesday evening, and Reo-Coker admits that it was a tough experience.
The 27-year-old said: "You could call it flashbacks. And that's why I had to walk over to the spot before the game to get it out of my system.
"I can't speak for the rest of the lads. I can only speak of my experience.
"But it was a day of very mixed emotions and I will never in my life be able to sum up in words the emotions I went through here."
Despite recent progress, a leading heart specialist has revealed that it is likely Muamba will be forced to retire following his cardiac arrest.
