Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has said that Tim Sherwood deserved to be given the job as manager on a full-time basis.
The caretaker coach was officially announced as the permanent Spurs boss on Monday evening, and Redknapp thinks that the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder was more than worthy of the appointment.
In his column in the Daily Mail, Redknapp wrote: "There is absolutely no reason why Tim Sherwood should not be the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
"He has played the game at the highest level, understands English football and he knows the club inside out.
"Sherwood won't talk tactics, he'll talk football. He's no bluffer, he's a football man and he's exactly what Spurs need."
Spurs are currently seventh in the Premier League.
