Harry Redknapp says that he would have taken Tottenham Hotspur's current Premier League position at the start of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes that critics need to be realistic when judging the North London club's season.

The Premier League outfit had a sensational start to the season, with some even suggesting that Spurs could push for title glory. However, in recent weeks Redknapp's side have slumped from third to fourth place and relinquished their position to arch rivals Arsenal.

"People forget where Tottenham should be at times," said Redknapp. "They have won two Carling Cups since 1991, the average finishing position until four or five years ago was probably about 10th - our form is fantastic.

"We were in a fantastic position and ended up losing points and Arsenal have been on a great run and picked up win after win and that's what has changed.

"If we'd come from nowhere and suddenly moved into fourth, we'd all be going, 'great'. But I'd have taken this position at the start of the year for sure."

Tottenham have the chance to reach the FA Cup final as they prepare to go head to head with local rivals Chelsea for the semi-final at Wembley on Sunday.
