Mauricio Pochettino: 'Michel Vorm can fill Hugo Lloris void'

Mauricio Pochettino insists that the disappointment of missing out on last month's League Cup final will not affect Michel Vorm as he steps in for Hugo Lloris at Burnley.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has full confidence that stand-in keeper Michel Vorm can fill the big void left by injury victim Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman, who has been a key player between the sticks all season for Spurs, will sit out Sunday afternoon's trip to Turf Moor after damaging his knee prior to the international break.

Vorm will be given the nod to start against Burnley, and Pochettino insists that the former Swansea City stopper can put previous disappointment experienced at the club, such as missing out on last month's League Cup final, behind him.

"I have no worries about him. He is a good professional and he is fine," the Tottenham boss is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "It is always it is difficult and it was the same with the other players who were left out.

"I was sorry for him, but also for the players who were on the bench or out of the squad. It is always difficult when you play a final and you have to choose the starting 11."

Vorm has made 11 appearances for Spurs this season, only one of which has come in the Premier League.
