Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino: 'Dele Alli will learn from mistake'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that Dele Alli will learn from his mistake after getting booked, which has banned him from this weekend's Chelsea game.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Dele Alli will learn with more "experience" after he was booked for confronting Mark Noble during Sunday's match against West Ham United.

The 19-year-old, who scored his first senior England goal last week, will miss Spurs' Premier League match against Chelsea on Sunday after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.

An exchange between Alli and Noble got heated at White Hart Lane during Tottenham's 4-1 win over West Ham, which takes Spurs to a club-record 12 league games unbeaten.

After the game, Pochettino claimed that Alli will "improve", but expectations of the midfielder should not be too high due to his age.

"He is young, he has played 10 or 12 games," London 24 quotes Pochettino as saying. "He is just 19 years old, he just starting for England. We need to stay calm with him.

"He has a strong character, his fight is there, but he needs to be calm and that is an example. He needs to improve but he is getting the experience. Next time he will learn from it."

Alli joined the North London club from MK Dons in the summer.
