Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has hit out at the critics whom he believes have portrayed the club in a negative light.
The North London side kept their hopes of European football alive with a 1-0 victory at Stoke City on Saturday.
Friedel has admitted that he does not know why the team has attracted criticism this season.
"There has been a lot of talk of negativity but if we win our last two games we will equal our record points tally for the Premier League, just as we did last season, so I don't see that as a negative season," he told talkSPORT.
"The publicity around the club has been negative for most of the season, but Tim [Sherwood] and the staff have done a good job keeping the players in the right frame of mind to want to go out and win games.
"Things are not as negative as people may think."
Tottenham sit sixth in the table, three points adrift of fifth-placed Everton.
